Call to Order

The regular meeting of the Board of Directors was held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Scooters, 2750 Miracle Mile, Bullhead City, AZ. The meeting was called to order at 12:15 p.m., by President Larry Adams.

Attendees

President Larry Adams; Secretary/Treasurer John Caponetto; and Director Catherine Lopez-Rajaniemi. Absent: Directors Shane Chester, Tonya Frederickson, Chris Morgan, and Darryl Franklin.

Minutes

President Adams asked everyone if they read the Newsletter. Everyone said yes. President Adams asked for a motion to approve the December Board Minutes. Secretary/Treasurer Caponetto made a motion to approve the December Board Minutes. Director Lopez-Rajaniemi seconded the motion. All were in favor. Motion passed.

Treasurer’s Report

President Adams asked for a motion to dispense reading of the Treasurer’s report. Secretary/Treasurer Caponetto made a motion to dispense reading of the Treasurer’s Report. Director Lopez-Rajaniemi seconded the motion. All were in favor. Motion passed.

Old Business

Christmas Party

There was a discussion regarding the Christmas party and also new directives as to who gets their meals comped. Everyone said they had a good time.

New Business

President Adams said that he and Secretary/Treasurer Caponetto are going to Kingman, AZ, tomorrow to attend the Mohave County Building Advisory Board Meeting chaired by Mehdi Azarmi. President Adams went through the agenda. There will be discussion and possible action regarding geotechnical requirements for commercial and residential properties. Discussion and possible action regarding energy code requirements for commercial projects. Discussion and possible action regarding building permit applications and submittal requirements (proof of owner authorized). Discussion and possible action regarding development review and building permit review process. Discussion and possible action regarding wind speed requirements for residential (IRC) and commercial (IBC). Discussion and possible action regarding single point of contact for development review process. Discussion and possible action regarding site plan review fees. President Adams stated he hopes more people attend this important meeting.

President Adams said that the City of Bullhead City has shut down Brookfield Communities from building any more homes until they complete the roads and off-site utilities.

Also, Director Lopez-Rajaniemi said that there were two class action suits against the company that wants to use the City of Bullhead City logo for their envelopes for being in the business of warrenty. The City of Bullhead City will receive 50 cents royalty for each envelope.

Adjournment

President Adams asked if anyone had anything else to discuss. He then asked for a motion to adjourn. Secretary/Treasurer Caponetto made a motion to adjourn. Director Lopez-Rajaniemi seconded the motion. All were in favor. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 12:40 p.m.
