Call To Order
The regular meeting of the Board of Directors was held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Scooters, 2750 Miracle Mile, Bullhead City, AZ. The meeting was called to order at 12:15 p.m., by President Larry Adams.
Attendees
President Larry Adams, Secretary/Treasurer John Caponetto, Directors Michael Andrews, Larry Ojeda, Catherine Lopez-Rajaniemi, and Bob King. Absent: Director Mike Williams and Shane Chester. Guest: Glenn Rajaniemi.
Minutes
President Larry Adams asked if they read the Newsletter. President Larry Adams asked for a motion to approve the June Board Minutes. Director Bob King made a motion to approve the June Board Minutes. Director Michael Andrews seconded the motion. All were in favor. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report
President Larry Adams asked for a motion to dispense reading of the Treasurer’s Report until tomorrow’s general/dinner meeting. Director Larry Ojeda made a motion to dispense reading of the Treasurer’s Report. Director Bob King seconded the motion. All were in favor. Motion passed.
Old Business
Secretary/Treasurer John Caponetto said that at the Academy of Building Industries School the shade structures are up. The landscaping underground drainage system is being completed. The rain gutters should be up today. The concrete pour is schedule for Friday. Landscaping and block walls will then the accomplished.
New Business
President Larry Adams passed out a handout from the Arizona Registrar of Contractors form R-62 – Minor Home Improvements stating that this license will allow handymen to perform work with a limit of $5,000 or less in total labor and material costs. It also said they cannot perform structural, electrical, plumbing or HVAC work. The Ariona Registrar of Contractors said they are implementing a grant program where they will waive all of the fees for qualifying individuals of the R-62 license, as well as pay for their bonds. Discussion was held and President Larry Adams felt that the handymen should be qualified before giving them licenses. President Larry Adams said that he’s hoping to get Tom Cole, the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, to have him come back to Bullhead City to discuss the handymen exemption. President Larry Adams said he will send a letter inviting Tom Cole to come to Bullhead City to address this. It was decided not to take any action until the Registrar of Contractors, Tom Cole, shows up, hopefully for September’s dinner meeting. Discussion on the status of the Recovery Fund. President Larry Adams asked for a motion to withhold any action by us regarding the status of the Recovering Fund. Director Catherine Lopez-Rajaniemi made the motion to withhold any action by us regarding the Recovery Fund. Director Michael Andrews seconded the motion. All were in favor. Motion passed.
Guest Speaker
Director Catherine Lopez-Rajaniemi said that we have Hildy Anguis as our guest speaker for August dinner meeting. She is not sure if John Gillete will also be there.
President Larry Adams said that Rodney Head, Bullhead City Councilman, will be our guest speaker at tomorrow night’s dinner meeting.
Adjournment
President Larry Adams asked if anyone had anything else to discuss. He then asked for a motion to adjourn. Director Bob King made a motion to adjourn. Director Larry Ojeda seconded the motion. All were in favor. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 12:51 p.m.
