Happy New Year!!
I hope everyone survived the holidays. Well, the party’s over, time to get back to work. And we started off with a bang. We held another home show meeting this past Tuesday and hashed over a bunch of stuff.
You should have received an e-mail about the home show this past week. If you attended last year print out your forms and return ASAP. If you did not attend last years show what are you waiting for? When have you ever had 2000 people walk into your office in 2 days? This is your chance to make it happen. If you have questions please feel free to call, text or e-mail me. We also have the car show and new this year will be a craft show.
This past week Larry went to Phoenix to fight for the TPT tax overhaul. He will be reporting on the outcome of the meeting.
The Winter Visitors Expo is on February 4 and of course we need a few volunteers to work for a couple hours each. The more the merrier.
Incase you haven’t heard, the AOBI was broken into Tuesday night or Thursday morning. All their softball equipment, including jerseys, were stolen. They also took some tools: a lapidary saw, large belt sander and various other small tools. Keep an eye out for these items.
This Months guest speaker will be Councilman, Jerry Duvall. In 2013 Jerry, decided that the homeless problem in Bullhead City needed to be addressed. Jerry, formed a task force to establish a Mission Statement, Business Plan, and Goals to meet the needs of the Homeless. This effort has resulted in establishing shelters for the Homeless as well as establishing an office to screen and assist the Homeless. Jerry is to be commended for his effort. Come and hear more about this beneficial program. Make your reservations on line Now!!
I look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting on Wednesday January 13th at 6pm. Don’t forget to RSVP to receive a chance at winning next months dinner for free.

There were around 30-35 people attending the meeting. Gina Cobb was at another meeting and couldn’t make this meeting regarding the second draft, so Vice President Adams presided over the meeting. He felt it went over very well. There were people from the League of Towns and Cities, Department of Revenue, and from the Governor’s office. There were no representatives from the cities of Kingman and Lake Havasu City. Vice President Adams said when he left the meeting he left with a positive feeling.
Economic Recovery Committee

Vice President Adams told the Board members that the Economic Recovery Committee is in the process of printing new brochures. He also said that they have received good responses from the ad in “Where to Retire” magazine. They have had around 600 inquiries. He also informed the Board that the Realtors have a new person and that the Chamber still needs to fill Chris Barton’s spot at the Chamber of Commerce.
President Bastyr and Treasurer Bouman stuffed six envelopes with a different amount in each envelope for a total of $200; one $100 bill, one $50 bill, two $20 bills, and one $10 bill. Gary Keith Park
Director Lopez-Rajaniemi said that Glenn Rajaniemi reported that the committee was still in the planning stages. They are looking to having a flag park, bathrooms, something that is low maintenance and maybe have an entertainment stage. Olivia McCormick would like to have someone design and donate to the park a Ramada and a built-in stage. The MVCA could contribute labor. So, an overview is that they need bathrooms, an open event stage, and there is no time frame yet. They were meeting again today. They are working on getting grants for funds and they are also planning fund raisers.
Secretary Caponetto reminded everyone that February 1st starts for renewing memberships. Discussion was held as to how much we should charge for membership and it was decided to keep membership cost at $100.
