Merry Christmas!!
WOW!! Another year behind us. I hope the year has been good to all of you and your families. I know it been an interesting one. With the elections finally behind us, we can begin to get back to a more normalcy in our lives. And no matter if your candidate won or lost we need to come together and show the world that the United States of America will stand strong and proud.
Our Christmas party this year will be on Wednesday December 14 at 6pm. It will be held at the Chaparral Country Club. We will be having our traditional dinner consisting of prime rib. Following our wonderful meal we will have a short meeting to bring everyone up to speed on things and then we’ll move right into the party. 50/50 tickets will be available for purchase to raffle off any gifts that our members or Santa may bring.
Dates for the home show will be finalized soon and spots will be going fast this year. I know a lot of you have been inquiring about spaces and we’ll get that info out as soon as we can. If you have never participated in one of our home shows, this will be the one to start with. Watch your mailboxes for more info.
Font forget to rsvp for the dinner so the chef knows how many to prepare for. And bring a gift or raffle prize. Remember, the school gets half the 50/50. The more prizes we have, the more tickets we sell and that means more money for the school.
Bring your spouses, your employees and your appetite. Be prepared to have a great time and spread some Christmas cheer.
Merry Christmas and have a safe and happy new year.

Call To Order

The regular meeting of the Board of Directors was held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at Scooters, 2750 Miracle Mile, Bullhead City, AZ.  The meeting was called to order at 11:47 a.m., by President Rick Bastyr.

President Rick Bastyr, Secretary John Caponetta, Treasurer Steve Bouman, Directors Steve Ramsey, Catherine Lopez-Rajaniemi, and Keith Parker. Absent: Vice President Larry Adams, Directors Kim Camacho and Jim Underwood.

President Bastyr asked if everyone had received their Newsletter. Some did, some did not. President Bastyr asked for a motion to approve the October 2016 Board Minutes. Old Business

Membership Drive

Treasurer Bouman said we had three membership applications at the Membership Dinner Meeting and receive two more in the mail.

Christmas Party

President Bastyr asked if we still like the idea of handing out $200 for prizes. There will be one $100 bill, one $50 bill, and two $20 bills and one $10 bill. They will be in blank envelopes. Discussion was held to maybe make it a large amount. The Christmas party will be held on December 14th at the Chaparral Country Club starting at 6pm. Dinner will be Prime Rib. The price will be $20 per person. President Bastyr said that his wife Wendy will be doing the center pieces.

President Bastyr asked the Board members how they received their Newsletter. Most of them did not receive them by e-mail. They had different methods of receiving them, but they couldn’t open the system to read their Newsletter. Secretary John Caponetto thinks that Around the River does not have up-to-date e-mail addresses. He said he will make sure that Jean gets an updated version of the e-mails for the members.

Survey Forms

President Bastyr said he will call Director Kim Camacho to find out if she has done the Survey forms.

Where To Retire

President Bastyr said that our ads in the Where to Retire magazine ran the same as last time. No changes were made and phone calls regarding the ads are being answered at the Chamber of Commerce. The magazine with our ads should be coming out in December.

New Business
