PRESIDENT’S LETTER

Well, here we are. It’s the middle of March and our 2nd annual Home and Garden Expo is just a few days away. We only have a handful of spots available, so if you haven’t turned in your application you better do it now. We have received quite a few registrants for the car and bike show. So make sure to stop by and show your appreciation for them coming out to share their vehicles with us. The kids from AOBI will be doing the judging and selling water at the home show. All of the proceeds from the car and bike show and the water sales will go directly to the school.

Membership renewals have slowed down. If you have not renewed yet please visit our website at www.mvcaaz.org to download the application. And while your there you might as well sign up for the home show.

The city has brought up section 12 again. I was a little disappointed that their first meeting was done behind closed doors during an Executive Session. Seems that’s where they went wrong the first time around. Anytime you want to gain someone’s trust, go behind closed doors and talk about them. Seems to work for the city, not. They are also proposing a one cent sales tax for the next seven years to be dedicated for street repairs only. Be sure to attend as many of the workshops and town hall meetings as possible. It remains uncertain if they will attend another one of our meetings to discuss the issue. Absorb as much info as you can on this issue so you can ask plenty of questions.

The Guest Speaker for our March 12th meetings will be Ruben Sanchez. Mr. Sanchez is the Field Manager for the Bureau of Land Management Kingman Resource District which encompass 2 million areas of our Public Lands mostly in Mohave County. Mr. Sanchez will give an overview of B.L.M. responsibilities and purposed changes in the use of Public Lands in the near future. This will be a very interesting and informative meeting so please plan to attend.

Don’t forget to RSVP on line to get a drawing ticket for next months dinner for free. We look forward to seeing you all on March 12 at 6pm.
